How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home
If you don’t know your size and don’t have a ring to reference, you can measure your finger using a simple method.
What You’ll Need
-
A thin strip of paper or a piece of string
-
A pen
-
A ruler (millimeters)
Steps
-
Wrap the paper or string firmly around the base of your finger. It should feel secure, not loose and not too tight.
-
Mark where the ends meet.
-
Measure the length in millimeters.
-
Match that measurement to the closest circumference in the chart above.
Helpful Tips
-
Measure your finger when it is warm. Cold fingers tend to measure smaller.
-
If you fall between sizes, choose the size closest to your measurement.
-
Wider bands fit more snugly. Consider sizing up for bands wider than 4mm.
-
For very thin bands, sizing down slightly may provide a better fit.
-
If you have a prominent knuckle, measure both your knuckle and the base of your finger. Choose a size between those two measurements so the ring slides over comfortably but sits securely.
A well-fitted ring should feel secure without pinching. You should be able to remove it with slight resistance.
